The New Forum Software / Board Location

Hello all-

We are preparing for installation of the commercial forum software (vBulletin). We feel it's better to do this sooner than later, just in case of hick-cups during the process. We wouldn't want a ton of usernames, posts, etc getting fouled up.

When things are ready to export over to the new platform we'll need to put the board on maintenance mode. This means no one will be able to post or any other activity during this time.

The URL for the forum looks like it'll be changing to boards.gonefishingforum.com so that Red can setup a sponsors page, forsale page, etc, outside the forum as well. Going to http://www.gonefishingforum.com will have a link to the boards as well, so you can't get too lost in here!

I'll be updating this post as I toil through the evening, so keep an eye on it!

It's looking like y'all will have to reset your passwords when we have it all converted to the new platform. I'll email everyone, if I can, with the reset link

The board will will be going down @ 9:55 PM 8/21/12!!!

Here’s a tip:
To enable the post editor with the smileys & stuff, go to
Settings > General Settings > Scroll down to Miscellaneous Options
Message Editor Interface: tick Enhanced Interface – Full WYSIWYG Editing
Save Changes

We're working on the mechanical aspects of this vehicle before putting a candy paint job with flames on it so don't worry about the general look for now. We can change the look without kickin y'all out (for the most part) so we should be up 99.9% of the time from here on out (barring the server going down from too many posts at one time).

Somewhere in here (I'll make it more obvious soon) we have a reputation meter. If anyone has been to 2CoolFishing knows what I'm talking about. You can give props to those who you think contribute well to the forum. Be on the lookout for that!

We'll put together a forum that encompasses about everything we as fishermen/boaters want. We feel that having to belong to 12 different forums to get what you want is difficult and you probably do too. Feel free to put up polls & run threads that bring up things you want out of a fishing forum!
