BASS Fed tx on TB
I'm gearing up now for the last tx of the S.E. Texas B.A.S.S. Nation trail on Toledo Bend. Some reels getting badly needed fresh f/c & getting tackle for the trip together. I'll post again after the event with an update.
In the meantime, y'all have fun & take care

It was an interesting weekend on TB. I woke at 2:00 AM Friday morning after finally getting to sleep about 11:30, that was rough! After finally getting my head together I rolled out the driveway around 3:20 with coffee in tow.
I arrived at Fin & Feather at 5:30 & drove around the camp for a few minutes, I wasn't meeting my partner, Ron Kost, until 6:00. It was still dark but the place looked like it was in pretty good shape. I located John Jones' (Stompy) rig at cabin 1 & parked next to him. When I told him we'd be up there before 6:00 he asked not to get a wake up call, he was on vacation
Ron arrived shortly after so we got to launching his Skeeter. We had made up our minds to focus on Housen so we made our way over to the North bank & started flippin & pitchin. First fish we got came on my Top Toad, no keeper. I tried froggin for a while longer be either my patience got thin or the fish got smart, so I switched up. After dropping our frog rods we were on soft plastics most all day. One of the points we worked over gave up several nice fish for Ron, so that was marked. I was catching only short fish, but plenty of them. We had thunder showers off & on during the afternoon. Ron got 3 keepers early & we both got a keeper later Friday.
Tournament day was like different water. Everywhere we found fish Friday was like a morgue on Saturday. I did grab 1st fish on a frog again, keeper this time, but that was the only thing that stayed the same. We fished most the day on the North shore & finished the day on the South. Ron finished with 1 fish, me with 3 and one of them died, giving me a penalty & finishing 32/96
All in all, it was fun but frustrating. I guess that's why they don't call it catching
