    Cool Rayburn Bass & Crappie

Got up to Rayburn Friday afternoon, didn't feel like rushing on my birthday
Was staying at the Dillow's camp across the water from Mill Creek, it was really nice of them to have me and it was great keeping the boat in the water overnight.

Eddie & I fished a couple coves over from their camp on Friday, the bight came on as it headed into the evening. Small Rat-L-Traps in Rayburn Red slow rolled over shallow grass was working pretty good. I think we boated 6 or 8 fish there. The surprise kicker was this crappie that went 16" & 2lbs

Saturday we got a late start, around 8:30, as the morning bite hadn't been on at all during the week. We fished Mills without a bite but it sure looked fishy

We left there & went to the island just West of there. Eddie picked up a buck bass on a sexy shad crank in the middle of nowhere nothingland It must have been a roamer. After no more bite we went across to Needmore and found a bite inside the point. We didn't see anyone catching anything so we just started recon to try to establish a pattern but he closest thing to a pattern was a couple bucks on chartreuse/white spinnerbait

Hunger set in around noon & seeing as the 1st keeper didn't hit until 11:40 we head in to the camp. The rain started pretty much right away and we tried to wait it out but it was persistent throughout the whole afternoon & evening. I hit the road around 7:00 and was happy & thankful for a good time on the water with good people
